Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): JD LX277 Lawn Tractor difficult to start after getting hot, correct diagnosis, vapor lock

Question
Hello, my LX277, engine model FH500V 48C is 10yrs old and has been extremely low maintenance. However, after the first start, which is fast and then I turn it off every start thereafter I have to choke it several times before it will start.  Does that indicate a bad coil.  I have a clean air filter, new fuel filter and battery.  Before I take this thing apart, would this be the correct diagnosis. Other than the starting, the mower runs like a champ. Thank you

One problem may be you are getting a vapor lock somewhere, when his happens try loosing the gas cap.The other option in that you have dirt in the carburetor bowl and when it starts to warm up  the fuel will start to bubble or may even boil if near too much heat, from the engine such as fuel lines, fuel filters to close to the engine. If the coil was bad once it got hot it would not start at all until the coil cools back down.
