Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Yard Machines tiller, briggs and stratton, spark plug wire

Question
Hi,

I have a yard machine tiller it has a 6hp briggs and stratton motor on it.  right now it will start with one pull and run for about 5 to 10 minutes then it will die after that it will not stay running.  If I let it sit for a couple hours it will start right up and run for about 5 to 10 minutes then die.  I have cleaned the carb (twice) replaced the air filter, oil, and spark plug.  I drained the gasoline and put new gasoline in because it was sitting for a while, I also added some seafoam to the gasoline. I have also done a compression test and came out at about 90 P.S.I.  I was hoping you would have some other suggestions for me.

Thanks for your help

Most likely the Coil is breaking down, what happens when coils start to go bad is that when the engine is cool the coil fires then the engine warms up and the coil starts to break down. Try this get a spark plug tester or a way to test the spark as soon as the engine shuts off remove the spark plug wire and check for spark is there is none replace the coil on it.
