Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Snow Blower Manual, 8hp tecumseh engine, briggs and stratton

QUESTION: Hi I have a Murray/Noma Signature Series 10/29 snow blower and I'm looking for an operators manual or a parts list. These are the numbers I got from it. Model NS1029DEL  584397 and Serial 400662  4144. Would you know where I could find one for my machine as I'm having a hard time locating one. Any help is greatly appreciated.

ANSWER: Murray/Noma manuals can be difficult to locate.  To make a long story short Murray went out of business and they were bought by Briggs and Stratton.

Have you checked Briggs and Stratton's website or tried their customer service.

QUESTION: Hi I haven't tried the Briggs website. I will check it out. Also I was wondering if you could tell me if the carburetor from a 8hp Tecumseh engine will work on the 10hp engine on this snowblower that I have.

You might be able to get away with a carb swap if the carb throats are close to the same size and you have needle ajustments and not fixed speed jets.  You can usually install an adjustment needle in most fixed jet snowblower carbs.

Is there something wrong with the 10 hp carb?
