Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Poulan PB30 rider mower, engine deck, great shape

Poulan Pro 11.5-HP Single Cylinder Automatic 30" Riding Mower , how reliable is this mower?

Reliability depends on a number of factors.  If you have a really smooth yard, cut the grass often, and perform regular maintenance on the mower it will last a long time.

If you have a rough yard and let the grass grow to high it puts more strain on the engine and deck.  The mower will not last as long as a heavy duty mower designed to take more abuse.

I had one customer once who had a really large yard but it was flat and smooth.  He changed the oil every time he mowed...usuually 8-10 hours of mowing a week.  He stored the mower inside and blew off all the grass and dirt each time he stored it.  The mower lasted for more than 10 years before he traded it in on a new one.  The engine, deck, and transmission were in great shape.

I had other customers with the same model at the but they only got about 2-3 years out of the mower as they never did any maintenance at all.
