Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): jerking, trasmissions, pulley

Question
I have a 2006 troy built pony model no. 233644 . Every time I start it up and put it in forward or reverse it jecks and makes like a bang noise and will not move.  But the motor is still running. What do I need to do to fix this problem.  Any help is much appreciated.

Answer
Have you checked the drive system to see if something is loose or broke?  I have found loose engine mounts, loose engine stack pulley bolt, loose transmission bolts, bad pulleys, loose pulley retaining nuts.

Those trasmissions are fairly reliable so I am guessing you have a bad part or something loose.

Let me know what you find.
