Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): craftsman weed eater, craftsman model, weed eater

Question
I HAVE A CRAFTSMAN MODEL 358.791070 32CC WEED EATER. MY QUESTION IS THERE IS NO FIRE ON MY SPARK PLUG, THE ON SWITCH IS GOOD, I AM SOMEWHAT SURE THAT THE IGNITION MODULE IS BAD. I HAVE STARTED TO TEAR IT DOWN BUT CAME TO A STOP WHEN I CAME TO THE CLUTCH, IS THERE A TOOL OR DOES IT UNSCREW FROM THE SHAFT TO REMOVE IT HAS AN ARROW SHOWING TO TURN LEFT. I ATTEMPTED TO TAP LIGHTLY , BUT I AM AFRAID I MIGHT BREAK SOMETHING. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP.

Answer
There is a screw inside the clutch drum;  it will either be a hex head or torx screw.  Once the clutch drum is removed you will see the clutch.  The clutch is threaded onto the crankshaft.  They sell a special piston stop tool used to keep the engine from rotating while unscrewing the clutch.  I rarely use the tool.

A cheaper way to keep the engine from rotating is to tie a bunch of knots in an old starter cord and then insert the knot through the spark plug hole.  When you turn the engine the piston will hit the knots but the knots will keep the piston from fully rotating.  Make sure you leave enough starter cord hanging out so you can remove the string when you are done.
