Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): New Black Max Honda 22in GVC 160 leaking gas out of carburetor, air breather, customer return

Question
New Mower was a customer return. Supposedly fixed unknown problem. I get it home cranks right up but notice gas coming out of the air breather. further inspection it is coming from the carb. They are 5 gaskets between the air filter/carb/head. Can't find any info on placement and/or correct side out etc. on Honda's website or elsewhere. No manual with mower. Float seems to be working ok. Didn't check further, didn't think the float pin would be gunked up being a new mower. Model #961440005-01. Thanks for your help!!!

Answer
I would check the inlet needle...either the inlet needle is leaking or the float is bad causing the inlet needle to leak.

Did you remove, dis-assemble, and clean the carb with compressed air from an air compressor?

Even a small drop of water can cause the inlet needle not to seal so I would clean the entire fuel system.

Make sure none of the gas entered the engine oil.  Gas will thin the oil and cause poor engine lubrication leading to a seized engine.
