Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Throttle has no effect, motor runs top speed, briggs stratton, murray mower

I have an older Murray mower with a Tecumseh engine.  Model 21673x92a.  The throttle cable bound up when my son was using it, so he disconnected it and just hooked a piece of wire to it to finish.  I removed the wire.  I have had a hard time finding a replacement cable, but changed the oil and spark plug yesterday.  I started it up and it ran great but at full speed.  I manually worked the throttle but it had no effect on the engine speed.  Any idea what might be wrong?  Also, know any links for older mower parts like this?  Thank you!!!

Your engine # is TVXL115 56025A Murray is owned by Briggs & Stratton now,they don't carry and parts older than 2003.It seems like you broke the Governor spring that is why is running at full throttle.It it the throttle link that is missing? I will attach a engine break down,also if you want the part I am going to have to get the engine model # and the spec # these are on the engine.
