my carburator on my 8.5 hp snow blower briggs&stratton all gumm up
how do i clean it.IT start but run with choke 3/4 open.I soon as i turn it to run it acts funny.seem to me there is no idle on those.You start it and its full throttle.you cant adjust the rpm.its fast or nothing.thanks  sincerly gilles

When carbs are this gummed up, the best course of action is to simply replace them.  You can try to clean it, but if it has any signs of rust, you can not stop the rust.  

You can use an ultrasonic carb cleaner (avail at harbor freight) or a dip can you can pick up at any auto parts store.
