Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Toro s620, s620, blow air

Question
Snowblower starts but doesnt stay running if I put my finger on primer button seems to stay running, ant ideas?

Answer
Is the primer bulb leaking?  Is the primber bulb hose cracked?

Have you cleaned the carburetor?

The link below should be very similar, if not identical to your carb:

This link is the 4 cycle repair manual but it covers diaphram carbs like yours.

I would start by checking the easy items, primer bulb, primer line.  If they are good then the next item I would check is the carb.  I would remove, dis-assemble and clean the carb with carb cleaner and compressed air from an air compressor.  Blow air through all the carb orfices/holes.  I would install new carb part, i.e., a carb rebuild kit and the reinstall.

You usually DO NOT have to remove any of the welch plugs as desribed in the service manual.  I have only had to remove a few over the course of 20 years and it can be a challenging, not to mention a real pain, to do.  Cleaning the carb and installing a kit almost always fixes the problem.

Let me know if the links help.
