QUESTION: I'm looking for the wormgear on the electric starter motor for a Snow Chief 3 HP 22 inch snowblower.

Service # 601443
Where can I find one?

ANSWER: Have you tried your local True Value hardware store; they sold the Snow Chief brand.

Please attach picture of the starer and part you need.  Snow Chief did not make their own engine so I'm betting it is a Tecumseh engine you have and a Tecumseh part you need.

Attach a picture so I can see if you have Tecumseh engine.

QUESTION: Thanks Eric.  I already closed it up.  Yes, it's a Tecumseh engine.  Other references suggested MTD to maybe find the part.
I can "pull start" it for the time being.

You should be able to order the gear you need from Tecumseh.  You are correct, MTD bought General Power, the maker of xx Chief products, back in 1995.  You can still get parts for many products but you have to call MTD customer service; they are usually very quick and very helpful.

Glad to hear you can at least use the blower.
