Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): BCS tiller model 720, manual tranny, bcs tiller

Question
Hello John; Last spring I through a rod  in my B & S powered BCS tiller and unbolted the 4 bolts expecting to remove the engine and  repair the break in the block and rebuild the engine while in there. I found that the engine removal is either not that simple or it is stuck in the clutch. It is an 8 hp B& S mounted on a model 720 harvester tiller with serial # 115956. I bought it used and got no info on it and found very little info online that would indicate how to pull the engine. Can you help, John? Also where I can find a user's and/or service manual (tranny lube, clutch adjust, do's and don'ts, etc)
