Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): mcculloch chain saw mac 3216, fuel line, steel wire

Question
how to replace fuel lines /getting to fuel tank?

Answer
I have a tool I made from a small piece of steel wire from from a hobby shop.  The steel wire is about .032 diameter, very thin.  I folded the wire in half to make what looks like a V, a very tight V.  I run the V part of the wire from the outside of the fuel tank and come out the fuel fill hole.  Then, I cut a taper in the fuel line, insert the taper in the V of the wire and pull the wire and fuel line back through the tank.

Does this make any sense?  What model of saw do you have.
