Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Can i pressure clean an engine, recoil starter, gx110

Question
QUESTION: Hi there

I have a Honda GX110 small engine, and i was wondering how you can clean it. There is a lot of oil and grime on it. Can i use a high pressure water cleaner on it?

Thanks

ANSWER: Hello Paul:

>>All the Equipment Used here is Washed Each Time it is Returned to the Shop.
>>A Pressure Washer can be Used, just Remember NOT to Direct the Spray at the Air Filter so as to Force the Water into the Filter or Carburetor Throat.
>>Use Compressed Air and Blow Dry the Engine After Washing and then Start the Engine and Allow it to Run for a Couple of Minutes to Dry Completely.
>>If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I Hope to be Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

QUESTION: Thanks for that John. I was also wondering if i should use a degreaser on the engine before i clean it. Does it matter if you get water into the recoil starter of the engine or not?

Thanks

Answer
Hello Again Paul:

>>If you Blow the Engine and Unit Off with Compressed Air and Use the Compressed Air to Blow Out the Recoil Starter, then you will Not have Any Problems from the Engine Recoil Starter and Other External Components.
>>As Always, If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I Hope to be Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.
