QUESTION: Thanks for the fast response. Unfortunately it's a chinese knockoff. I just found a sticker on the engine that says Chongoing Hensim Engine Co.. Do you think that IU can still use the Briggs chart?

From what I can track down you have a Chongqing Hensim Gasoline Engine Manufacturing Co., Ltd generator.  The engine is very similar to Honda engines at they are copies.

I'm guessing your engine is similar to a Honda GX390 but I'm not for sure.  However, most of the valve clearance specs are the same for several engine models as you can see at this link:
