Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Carburator floods, carburetor jets, carburetor cleaners

Question
I put a new carb kit into a techumseh engine model # HS50-67172 C (engine on a snowblower) and its still flooding out? ONce i do get the engine too ruin it idles extremly high then dies out?

Answer
Just putting a kit in a carburetor will not give you a new carburetor. You really need to clean it with something that can cut ethanol. Unfortunately I have found that most carburetor cleaners do not, I suggest you purchase SEA FOAM or DEEP CREEP and let the carburetor, jets and bowl nut soak in it. You also may find you have a bad float if it continues to flood, or the seat installed incorrectly.
