Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Troy-bilt trimmer starts but quit running after 5-8 secs, carburetor repair kit, new spark

Question
The troy-bilt trimmer (model # TB70SS) will start, but quits running after approximately 5-8 seconds.  I can pump the primer while it is running and it will continue to run longer or for as long as I continue to pump the primer.  Trimmer has new spark plug, arrestor is clean, fuel lines are clean, new fuel, carburator has been cleaned several times, air filter is clean.  This problem started after the trimmer was being used and I noticed a fuel leak (one line was leaking at connection) after using for an hour or so on and off.  I shut the trimmer off and about a week later a decided to go ahead and clean everything and fix the leaking fuel line.

You are probably not getting enough fuel delivered to the carburetor. This problem is caused by the following Sounds like you will need to clean your carburetor.
Sometimes you can get by with priming it a few times, and letting it
run a few times like that and it will flush the gunk out of the jets,
but most of the time you will need to rebuild the carburetor.
If the mower is over a couple years old, then I also recommend that you
buy and install a new carburetor repair kit, because the diaphragm will
get hard and that will cause it to be hard to crank.
When you clean your carburetor and remove the jet screws, count the
number of turns it takes to seat the jets from their original position.
That way when you go to put the jets back in, you know how many turns
they were in/out.
