Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): engine starts then quits, suction tube, couple seconds

The engine starts when primed and stops after a couple seconds.It's not getting fuel. The carburator is attached to the top of the tank, and I see no fuel line of any sort.Is there a filter inside the tank or something that could get plugged? It's only around 3-4 months old. Have any ideas? thanks

There is a fuel tube with a screen that could be plugged, but first I would try using fresh fuel. I have experienced many problems with the fuel we get now, so try that first, if that doesn't fix it, check the diaphragm under the carburetor and the suction tube.
