Blown head gasket? what else should I check? OTHER THAN THAT IT RUNS FINE HAS ELECT STARTER BUT ONLY WIRE OFF ENGINE IS THE KILL WIRE SO i JUST USE RECOIL THANKS FOR YOUR HELP TERRY

Answer
Hello Terry:

>>On Some Ride On Mowers the Engine will Sling Oil from the Lower Crankshaft Seal and Deposit the Oil Under the Cylinder Head.
>>Check the Underside of the Mower Frame and be Sure the Lower Crankshaft Seal is Not the cause.
>>Check and Clean the Crankcase Vent/Breather. Depending on the Engine Model, this is Usually Behind the Carburetor.
>>If the Crankcase Vent/Breather is Not the Cause, then the Head Gasket may Require Replacing.
>>Are the Model Numbers still on the Mower? Usually they are Under the Seat.
>>If the Mower Model Numbers are Avaliable, then Send them to me. I may be Able to Locate the Engine Model Numbers with them. Some Year Model MTD Units have the Engine Model Numbers Listed with the Mower Model Numbers in my Manuals.
>>If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I Hope to be Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
