Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): John Deere LT155, john deere lt155, head gasket

Mower started smoking real bad, looked as if oil was coming from the carb., replaced the gasket which was in bad shape. Still smoking, do you think it is a head gasket?

I don't work on John Deere, so I have no idea what type of engine is on this unit. My best guess is the float in the carburetor may have stuck and caused gas to mix with the oil making this happen. Check the oil and smell it to see if it smells like gas and is overfull.
