Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): B&S 18hp twin II, air compressor, carburetor

Question
I have an engine that won't run with an open choke, no choke. It seems to like full choke best, and will die if I try to open the choke.

Answer
This is a tell tale sign the carburetor is dirty.  Have you removed, disassembled and cleaned the carb with compressed air from an air compressor and spray carb cleaner?

There is probalby some debris in one of the carb orfices that is causing the problem.  Blowing compressed air through all the carb orfices (holes) when you have is taken apart usually fixes the problem.

Let me know if this helps.
