Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Hydrostatic Transmission Problems, broken bell, hydrostatic transmission

Question
Huskee Model 690-699 not sure which book doesn't say. Model # 13AS698H131. When I bought the mower it had a broken bell pulley, the mowing deck part had broken but it would still drive and loaded on to the trailor fine. I bought a replacement pulley and tipped the lawnmower up, vertical to change the pulley. Changed the pulley and got new belts for both drive and mower. The Problem is that now the darn moves but extremely slow and doesn't have the power to go up hill. I have seen some similar posts, but my mower doesn't start stong and slow down, it is always slow. Thought maybe it might be an air bubble, but I don't know. Spring on tension pulley is there and holding strong. If it is an air lock, how do I remove it, or could it be something else. Thanks for the help, Jeremy.

This may sound silly, but try backing up the hill. If it does with no problem, you may have an adjustment issue on the transmission. It's my understanding that "some" have what would be considered to be a "centering" adjustment between F & R.
Most likely, your trans is considered "not serviceable", but sometimes there are work arounds for that.
You do need to IDENTIFY the transmission however. There's just too many brands & models to give "generic" fixed.
There should be a tag or numbers on the trannie.
