Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Oil or Engine problem, fuel stabilizers, blend oil

Question
Dear experts,
I have no knowledge of engines whatsoever and I believe that I am having a small problem with my lawn mower.

I have a DuraForce engine 6.5HP Silver Pro Series made by LawnBoy.
Model#: 10323
Serial#:230020240
It takes 32:1 gas+oil, respectively, and it says to use lawnboy generation II oil only or equivalent. Not sure if this next oil link below is the equivalent or not.

**http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHT3afY00Ws** -- Here is a video I found of my exact lawn mower and he runs the motor and the sound is exactly like it should be.

**http://www.gradyshardware.com/Lawn-Boy-89930-8Ounce-2Cycle-Ashless/M/B000GDARBI.htm?traffic_src=froogle&utm_medium=organic&utm_source=froogle** -- This is the oil I've used in the past years only it did not have stabilizer mixed in with it. I mixed it in separately.

So here is my story, I have always gone to The Home Depot to buy this Lawnboy generation II oil, but when I got there they said that they had stopped selling that particular oil brand and recommended me with this second oil brand listed above. So I decided to buy that brand and mixed it in with 5 gallons, which is my fault for not testing before hand with this unknown oil brand. I filled up the gas tank in my lawn mower and took some time to get it started (i.e. pulling the startup line more than several times after pushing the little pump a few times).
When I finally got it to start up it sounded normal at first. I waited for some of the excess smoke to clear from exhaust. Then I hear the engine/blade rpms getting louder/faster not too quick but gradually. It stopped increasing at some point, but (from the example in the video of my lawnmower I linked) it sounded about twice as loud as normal and it was shaking/vibrating the entire motor a little bit more than it normally did. I didn't feel safe with it running that hard and decided to not mow the lawn. My question is should I throw out the gas+oil I mixed and order the 2 cycle generation II lawnboy oil or is it just a problem with the lawn mower engine?

Answer
Andrew

Oil is oil are you using a 2 cycle oil? All you need to make sure that the ratio is correct. The smoke is coming from too much oil in the mixture. Are you mixing it 40 to 1 thats the best mixture for some engines. try adding a little less and see how it runs.
