how do i test my eletric pto on my 757 z trak lawn mower
the wires get hot and the pto cuts out let it cool and it will work again.

Take off the the connector and unhook the wires,when you have the key on "Not running"  Get a tester and test the wires coming from the harness. turn on the PTO and you should get 12 + -  volts if the voltage is below that then your solenoid may be going bad.The PTO can be tested by the same method connect the wires back together if you have access to a amp meter you can test the amp draw on the PTO and with  key on engage the PTO.See if gets hot to the touch and if you do get a amp meter see what the unit is drawing it shouldn't be over 8 amps.If it is the PTO is bad.
