Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Mower wont start, engine model type, rear fenders

I have a Murray riding mower when I go to start it will not turn fast enough to start. It has a new battery and starter. When it gets to the compression stroke it stops and barely turns until it get to the exhaust stroke. it will turn freely if you take out the plug. It started doing this after it died when it hit a root. Please give me a answer please.

What is the Murray model number?  The model number is on a sticker usually located under the seat or rear fenders.  I'll also need the engine model, type and code number.  The engine number is located on the engine, either on a sticker or stamped in the metal engine shroud/top cover.
