Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): MTD Yardmachine 13AC762F729 leaking grease, silicone gasket, lithium grease

Question
John,

do you have advice on replenishing the grease and sealing a leak on the transmission / axle / differential housing on the model 760-779  13AC762F729  yard machine lawn tractor?

there is a good diagram on the mtd website, under the 2006 model year, lawn tractors,  13AC762F729

no gasket, i guess.  the leak is near the midline of the machine, between the upper and lower castings.

can that be sealed? and can grease be added? (i don't see a fitting)

thanks very much

Answer
Hello Seymour:

>>I have had Several of the Newer Transaxle in the Shop for the Same Problem.
>>Usually I Split the Casing and make a Gasket with the Ultra Grey or Ultra Black Silicone/Gasket Maker and then Add the Transxale Oil/Grease to the Lower Section until the Oil/Grease is Filling 1/2 the Lower Casing.
>>Depending on the Transaxle OEM and Model, the Grease I use is SAE50 Engine Oil, 80w90 Gear Oil and Sometimes a Lithium Grease in the Tube (Rarely Used so far).
>>On the Transaxle is an OEM Identification Plate. Send me the Information Off of This Plate, Please. With this Information, I can Locate the Proper Manuals and Better Assist You.
>>If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I Hope to be Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
