Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Toro Lawnmower, acre lawn, toro mower

Question
I hope that you can help me with this as I can't figure out what else to do other than hiring someone to cut the grass & funds are limited in this economy.
I have a Toro 200016 lawnmower-this is my 4th or 5th yr with it. This year, the 1st cut of my 1 acre lawn went well. Every since then problems. It keeps shutting off. I've changed the air filter, spark plug, changed oil. gas, added stabilizer and sprayed carburetor fluid. I changed the blade last year. It will run for a while then shut off. If I let it sit for many minutes, even until the next day, sometimes it'll run for about 1 run (approx 1-2mins) then it shuts off again and won't start. I just parked it again. I can't find anything in the manual as to what else to do. I can't afford another one and take it to a repair person is a problem as it won't fit in my small car. Any suggestions welcome. Is it really time for a new lawnmower or is there something that I'm missing? Thank you

Answer
Sonia,

There is one thing you can try, but im not feeling real good that it will help, but we can only try!  Loosen your gas cap and see if this helps. I hope it does!

Is the primer bulb pliable?  meaning when you push it in does it come right back out?

The most common problem that I see with this engine on a Toro mower is a dirty carb.  This means a trip to a repair shop or perhaps you can find a handyman in your neighborhood that can do the repair for you.

Hope this Helps
