Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): noma mower, noma lawn tractor, woodruff key

Question
i have a noma lawn tractor model g4015000 serial# s001095337776 with a peerless transmission 6040 1350 is on the two inch plate on the transmission.the mower runs good when it goes down a slight grade and somewhat ok on level ground  but it slows down to a crawl going up a slight grade to where it will stop moving the engine is running fine . i tried a new transmission drive belt and now i have the transmission out on the work bench.the pulley on top of transmission moves turns very easily (too easily ) i feel i should see the axles moving when i turn the pulley but nothing moves.i can turn the axle by hand or if i have the wheels on both wheels turn if i turn one wheel..should the pulley turn this easily..i tried moving the shift mechanism but it is very difficult to move on the bench..any help or suggestions would be appreciated
thank you

Answer
Hello Mike:

>>From your Description it Sounds like a the Pinion Gears are Worn or there is a Woodruff Key that has Sheared.
>>There is Very Little that can go Wrong with these Transaxles.
>>You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Engine at this Site Addy, http://www.outdoordistributors.com/ and Select the P. Then Select Peerless. Then Select "Don't have Part Numbers? Click Here". Then Select the Series Transaxle (1300). Then Select the Transaxle File for your Transaxle (1300-1350).
>>Usually the Problem you Described is Either the Belt Slipping or the Pinion Inside the Transaxle is Worn.
>>If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I Hope to be Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
