Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): ignition switch, visual comparison, wiring harness

i amtrying to find out if my ignition switch is wired correctly. the old switch had letters on the terminals the new switch has numbers on the terminals 1 2 3 4 5 do you know which number coresponds to which letter the letters are s m b l g

No I dont. Ask the manufacturer of the switch for a diagram. you will have to do a visual comparison.  Be SURE you have the right ignition switch.  If you dont you risk burning up the wiring harness and electronics on the unit it powers.  

For what its worth  S goes to solenoid, M goes to Magneto, B goes to battery, L goes to lights, and G is Ground.
