Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): crankshaft seal, grit sandpaper, crankshaft seal

Question
How do I change the crankshaft seal in my Tecumseh 13HP riding mower engine. The model # is OHV130 206801A. I heard that the engine don't have to be pulled from the mower to change the seal.
Any help you can give me would be appreciated.
Thanks,
J.

Answer
Hello J;

>>THINK SAFETY: Always Remove the Spark Plug Wire/s from the Spark Plug/s and Tie Away from the Spark before Working on Any Small Engine unless the Plug/s must be Connected to the Coil/s for Diagnostic Reasons.
>>Tilt the Engine so the Spark Plug is Facing Up, unless you have the Crankcase Oil Drained from the Engine, then you can Tilt the Engine in Any Direction and Not have to Worry about Oil Clogging the Crankcase Vent or the Seeping Into the Cylinder.
>>Remove the Blade and Blade Adapter (push Mowers) or the Pulley (Ride on Mowers).
>>Sand the Crankshaft all the Way to the Oil Pan/Sump with 440 Grit Sandpaper or Emory Cloth.
>>Using a Flat Screwdriver, Carefully Pry out the Old Oil Seal.
>>Using a Short Pipe that is Slightly Smaller than the Outer Diameter of the New Seal, Tap the New Seal into Place (Flush with the Oil Pan/Sump).
>>Reassemble the Blade Adapter or Pulley.
>>You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Engine at this Site Addy, http://www.outdoordistributors.com/ and Select the T. Then Select Tecumseh. Then Select Don't have Part Numbers. Then Enter the Model Numbers OHV130-206801A. Then Select your Model and Download the File for Online Viewing.
>>If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I Hope to be Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
