Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Stihl chainsaw, stihl ms 310, small engines

I have a Stihl MS 310 chainsaw (59cc) it is eight years old.
When it is set to full choke it fires as per usual(starting)
It is then set to half choke for starting. It starts and revs up as usual but then it cuts out as if it is running out of fuel.There is fuel in the tank and it does the same over and over but won't continue running.

I would suggest a complete carb tear-down and clean as outlined in the manual.
I personally think that a lot of the problems we're having with our small engines now are caused by the ethanol mixed with the gas absorbing moisture even when the fuel is fresh.I may just start buying my gas for the small engines at Marathon, where they aren't mixing that crap with the gas as yet.Just pick up a rebuild kit for it...clean it up real well when its tore apart...then re-intsall it. If it still doesnt work then its new carb time
