Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Torque specs, crankshaft pulley, pulley bolt

Question
John, In response to your question about the counterweight screw (that is what I call it, I don't know its real name), but it is the screw that holds the two halves of the counterweight together, ref# 761 in the section "Cylinder, Piston/Ring, Crankshaft, Sump, Kits" at the website you gave me. In regards to the crankshaft pulley bolt, the original one that was in the mower was a grade 5 bolt. Do I need to purchase a grade 8 bolt in order to properly repair my mower? Thank you again. Aaron M.

Answer
Hello Again Aaron:

>>If the Crankshaft Pulley Bolt is NOT a Grade 8 Bolt, then Yes Please Replace it with a Grade 8 Bolt.
>>It's a Safety Thing.
>>The "Counterweight" Bolt is Torqued according to the Bolt Diameter/Size.
>>A Chart of the Correct Bolt Torque According to Bolt Diameter/Size can be Viewed at this Site Addy; http://www.morbark.com/Service/belttorque.pdf  .
>>As Always, If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I Hope to be Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
