Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Briggs 311777 0143E1, bolt torque, crankcase

Question
John, could you help me with the bolt torque pattern for the crankcase on this engine. I found out to torque to 180, but did not find the pattern. Thanks very much.

Answer
Hello Steve:

>>The Torque Pattern is Simple.
>>With the Sump/Oil Pan Facing Up, Snug All the Bolts Starting with Either Corner of the Flat End of the Block.
>>Then Go to the Bolt Across the Block from that Bolt.
>>Now Select a Bolt to Either Side of this Bolt and Snug it.
>>Now Go Across the Block from that Bolt and Continue in this Manner until All the Bolts are Snug.
>>Now Torque the Bolts in the Same Manner to 100in pounds.
>>Then Torque All the Bolts in the Same Manner to 180in pounds.
>>If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I Hope to be Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
