Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): belt guard removal on Craftsman Lawnmower, self propelled lawnmower, self propelled mowers

Question
Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): belt guard removal on Craftsman Lawnmower, self propelled lawnmower, self propelled mowers
blade adapter & debris
I have a Craftsman 22" self propelled lawnmower, model 917.377151.  The drive belt for the self propeller jammed.  I need to remove the debris shield under the mower to get at the problem.  The debris shield surrounds the shaft in one piece, so the blade adapter needs to come off. My question is, is the blade adapter removed using a gear puller?   Is there some other way?   I included a drawing.
Thanks!

Answer
All of the self propelled mowers I have seen the blade adapter comes off when you remove the blade.
The blade bolt is what usually holds it on.
Try spraying the adapter with some lubricant and  tapping the adapter with a hammer it is probably just stuck from debris and being used.
Some can be pretty stubborn to remove.
Let me know what you find out an we will go from there.
If you would please rate my answer. Thanks
