Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): John Deere L130 riding lawn mower, john deere l130, loose connections

Question
Hello, the fuse continues to burn out every time I try to engage the mower blades buy pulling up in the button to engage blades. I've replaced it with another and it burnt out again so I tried a 30 amp (20 is what was in it) and that burnt out. Any ideas on what I could check? OMGX21151 12

Answer
You defintely have a short in the wiring going to the pto clutch.
Do not replace the manufacturer fuse with a higher rated one, you can burn up the wiring harness or worse if the fuse doesn't blow.
Check all the wiring going to the pto switch and the pto clutch on the engine. Look for any frayed or pinched wires, loose connections or anywhere the wires might rub on metal.
if you cannot find anything disconnect the pto clutch wiring on the engine and then try the switch if it doesn't blow then you have an internally short in the pto clutch, and it will need replaced.
Let me know what you find out.
