Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): yard machine lawn tractor, little bugger, continuity tester

Question
my lawn mower will not start.i checked selenoid and i had power to the selenoid, but the pole to the selenoid that goes to the starter does not have any power.  i changed the selenoid and still come up the same result.  what else could be wrong. the engine turns, the engine is good.

Answer
First,  Check your voltage at the battery

Start checking all your safety switches,  at least 12.5 volts?

isolate and check each safety switch with a continuity tester, it sounds like one of the switches in your interlock is bad.  You will have switches on the seat, clutch, transmission neutral, and PTO.  You may have a reverse override backup switch as well.  If you do this is most likely the little bugger giving you grief!
