Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Electric Hedge Trimmer, electric weed trimmers, electric hedge trimmer

Question
I have a Black and Decker HS2400 Hedge Hog hedge trimmer. I accidently tried to trim a metal fence post with it, and now the blades don't move. It hums, but that's about it.
Any suggestions for repairing it?

Answer
Hello Greg:

>>From your Description it Sounds like the Gears are Jammed or Damaged.
>>With the Unit Unplugged, can you Rotate the Blades Backwards from the Usual Rotation?
>>If Yes, then Rotate the Blades Backwards 1 Full Turn and then Plug up the Unit and see if Operates Correctly. If No, then
>>There is Gear Damage and the Unit should be Replaced. I have Estimated the Cost of this Type of Repairs to Electric Weed Trimmers, Clippers and Other Electric Yard Products and 99% of the Time the Cost of Repairing is Over Half of a New Unit.
>>If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I Hope to be Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
