Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Parking brake shut off., seat safety, safety switch

Question
I have a Snapper RER model 2811523BV. After starting and warming it up when I release the parking brake, it will shut down. The seat safety switch has been checked ok. I have found out that if I engage the blade the mower will then move normally and will not shut down. Only with the blade engaged will it operate normally. What should I check or adjust to correct this.

Answer
Is the pedal/clutch switch bad or are there any bad wiring?  Did you check the interlock module?

The wire schematic can be found in the parts list, link below:

Using a multimeter check the following on the module.

1. Check the resistance between the "red" pin and the "blue" pin. It should be open.

2. Check the resistance between the "grounding point" on the module and the "red" pin. It should be open.

If these 2 measurements are open the problem is in the loom/switches. If a short, then the module is no good.
