---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: WHEN I FIRST START THE TRACTOR, GAS WILL "SPIT" OUT OF THE MUFFLER FOR A FEW SECONDS, THEN IT WILL RUN NORMALLY. WHEN I SAY "SPIT", I MEAN THERE IS A SPRAY OF GAS MIXED IN WITH THE EXHAUST.

THE ENGINE MODEL NO. IS CV4925

THE LAWN TRACTOR MODEL IS: #917-272420, CRAFTSMAN LTX 1000, 18 HOP OHV

Answer
I can only surmise that there is fuel that is getting past the inlet needle and is pooling.  Upon starting it it spits it out the exhaust.  You could try replacing the needle/seat, perhaps the electric shutoff, but if it doesnt bother you that much... i wouldnt do nothing.

Good Luck
