Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman Eager-1 engine, craftsman eager 1, eager 1 engine

Question
Hi John. This was part of your answer for Craftsman 4.5 Eager-1 engine that had been sitting for 5 years. "If when the Engine Shuts Off; You have Fire at the Plug. Then Remove the Carburator and Soak it Overnight in Cleaning Solution."

I have the same problem - I can smell the varnish. My question is what is a good cleaning solution to soak it in overnight. Is gas ok?

Thanks again, Lewis
