Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Echo Gas Trimmer, echo gas trimmer, gas string trimmer

Question
I have a Echo gas string trimmer. I have replaced the fuel lines, fuel filter, carb kit, primer bulb, and spark plug. The only way it will crank is if I put gas in the carb and will run for as long as I hold the throttle wide open, but as soon as I let off it dies out. What is wrong with this thing?

>>From your Description it Sounds like the Exhaust Port or Muffler (spark Arrester Screen) may be Restricted and Requires Cleaning.
>>The Following is a Basic Instruction File for Doing a Diagnostic on the Engine for this Problem. Any Input is Appreciated.
>>**Remove the Muffler and Make Sure the Exhaust Port is Clear.
>>If it is, then Try to Start the engine with the Muffler Off.
>>If it Starts and Runs Properly, then Clean the Spark Arrestor Screen in the Muffler or Replace the Muffler if Required. Some Mufflers will Split apart for Cleaning of the Screen and Some are Screwed/Bolted to the Outside and on Others the Muffler has to be Replaced.
>>If the Muffler and Exhaust Port are Clean, then
>>The Problem may be in the Carburetor Metering Valve.
>>I Require the OEM (Walbro, Zama, ect) and the Model Numbers Off the Carburetor. With these I can Locate a Breakdown of the Carburetor and Better Assist you.
>>If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I Hope to be Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.
