Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): lawn tractor dies, head gasket, type numbers

Question
Hello - I had gas seeping into the oil - I put a new needle in the carb, seem to fix that, but now when I power up, or the mower goes under a load it sputters black smoke and dies. Starts fine, runs fine, if you power up slow its ok, but quick throttle gives the black smoke and sputters. Its a 15 horse briggs.  Any idea whats going on?

Answer
HI DIXON

LET ME KNOW MODEL & TYPE NUMBERS FROM ENGINE

JUST A COUPLE OF THOUGHTS

I SUSPECT SOMETHING WRONG IN CARBY   POSSIBLY RESTRCTION IN  NOZZLE OR PROGRESSION PORT  OR MAIN JET  OR  ITS NOT GETTING ENOUGH AIR  OR PLAIN TOO MUCH FUEL @ REV

OR  IF OHV  VANGAURD SINGLE CYLINDER   IS INSIDE OF AIR FILTER  WET WITH WHAT LOOKS LIKE OIL ?

IF SO MAY INDICATE  BLOWEN HEAD GASKET    OHV VANGAURDS ARE FAMOUS FOR IT
