Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Transaxle, info model, transaxle

Question
I was talking to you about replacing the nut on our MTD in the transaxle. Were you able to get the diagram. It was Transaxle info: Model 618-0163 Serial number: H-212338. I would feel confident with that. And do you just look underneath and start undoing screws, once cleaned. Would the nut be there and possible just able to be threaded back on?

Answer
Hi Paul:

>>If you are Lucky, then the Nut will be in the Pan of the Transaxle.
>>Once Cleaned; Remove All Belts, Brackets and Linkage (on some models, the shifter lever must be removed before removing the Transaxle) that are Attached to the Transaxle Housing.
>>Now Support the Transaxle and remove the Transaxle Housing Bolts that Hold the Transaxle to the Frame and the Transaxle can be Lowered and Removed from Under the Unit.
>>I Failed to Ask for the OEM Name Off the Transaxle Tag. The Numbers look to be for a Hydro Gear, but the Transaxle Breakdown doesn't look like a Hydro Gear and there is Not a Listing for this Transaxle in the Hydro Gear Manuals or Online.
>>Thanks.
