Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Carb on 1BSXS 1901VF 275228 B&S, power washer, tinges

Question
I have a Genrac Power washer with the 6.0m HP B&S 1BSXS.1901VF  275228 engine.  The carb is a little varnished up (because of neglect when stored)  Motor will fire when hand primmed but will not run.  I cleaned the bowl and sprayed carb cleaner into the carb but I am thinking the jet and possible venturi may be clogged.  What can I do to get it working again?

Answer
hi   pete

yes if carb has green  gum / varnish  ( make sure  that carb body has no blue tinges in it  ) this may be metals comming out of  carb casting)   if  so replace carb   , if not  it sounds like carb is main nozzle is   blocked , and posibly main jet , check  bowl vent and and idle air bleed holes as well

take carb off and soak in  carb cleaner for  1/2 hour  give real good clean and clear  ( may have to use a small wire to help clear  holes   and  make sure no restriction exsists
provided flow from tank to carb is  good  and  o ring and manifold joint are tight  and have no leaks   engine should run .

give it a go
