Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): electrical / tractor repair, starter solenoid, tractor repair

I have contact from battery to relay , no contact from relay to starter..,? This is a Sears rider 19.5 hydrostatic trans.

Answer
Is there 12 volts DC on the starter solenoid when the key is in the start position?  You will have to have someone sit on the mower, push in the clutch and be sure the blades are off to check the solenoid exciter voltage.  In other words, have some try to start the mower normally while you check for voltage.
