Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Sears 917.274751 Lawn Tractor, steering linkage, wire loom

Question
QUESTION: After about 10 minutes of running and cutting fine, when you make a turn, the engine starts to sputter but never actually stalls. If you apply the brake and let it sit for a couple of seconds, then it starts to run fine. When you start to go straight it's fine, but will keep doing the same thing only when you make a turn. What do you think?
Thanks,

Barry

ANSWER: Is the steering linkage rubbing a safety switch wire?  There could be something rubbing or flexing, such as the chasis, that is rubbing on a safety switch wire.  Is there a safety switch that is loose.  Have you recently done any electrical work or any fuel line work on the mower?

QUESTION: Thanks for your response. The only thing I did was change the fuel filter but that was only after it started doing this. I'm going to check the seat safety switch. I read on another blog that someone had a similar problem. I should just check all the wiring at this point.
I appreciate your help!

Answer
Did you replace the fuel line.  The answer I'm looking for is no.

I had a seat safety switch cause a weird problem once.

The toughest part is tring to figure out is there is an electrical or fuel problem.  I'd start electrical if you have done anyting else to the mower.  Look around parts that move and area where the wire loom goes through holes in the frame.
