Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): old Tecumseh engine, leaded gasoline, combustion chamber

Question
I just purchased a older model snowblower(I think its from the 70's)and I have a concern about the grade of gas I should use. The engine model no. is HM8A-155127E. The snowblower is a MTD Snowflite model no.319-800A. There is another no. afterwards 1278P which may help. Did they recommend leaded or unleaded gas for this engine? I put 93 octane gas in all my 2 cycle engines. Would 93 octane help or hurt this older engine?

Answer
93 oct will not hurt your engine.  If you are really concerned about the engine you can purchase a lead additive for today's gasoline.  This article briefly describes leaded gasoline:

I have had a few really old engines where old deposits would require cleaning by removing the head and scraping out the combustion chamber and valves.  However, I can only recall one that was really bad so I doubt you will have any problems.

Just in case, this link is very helpful if you have to do any engine repair.
