Use the "Engine Check Chart" for valve clearance specification and torque settings.  The "Engine Check Chart" does not have the rod clearance.

Send me the engine type number and I can look up the rod clearance.

QUESTION: What is the rod clearance on the B&S 42A707-1238-01, Thanks!

Answer
I've looked all over the Internet and in the Service Reapair manual.  The manual does not have the connecting rod clearance, just has the crank journal reject size.

Most of of the time when overhauling engines the rods are replaced since they contain the "bearing"/bushing.

You might call around your local mower shops and see if they have a 394306 connecting rod in stock and measure the new one to compare to your connecting rod.
