Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Carb leaking STILL!, honda hr, leak fuel

Question
I have a Honda HR 215 SX that started to leak fuel from the air filter some time ago. I have replaced all gaskets, insulator, and completely cleaned the carb and re-installed.  It still leaked. I tried to tighten the mounting bolts and broke snapped the mounting stud.  Re-ordered re-installed.. Still leaks.. But only when stopped. My Father in Law took it a part when I wasn't there and I am not sure if I have the order of the gaskets on correctly either.  But based on the columns it looks like I need a needle valve replacement, which I have no idea or diagram to go from!!  Please help an non mechanical person.

Answer
Hi Tyler,

In order to do the service work on a carburetor you will need to have a decent service manual .

This will guide you through the tougher parts of the job.

Most engine manufacturers do carry schematics of the parts on their websites.  I am not

totally certain that Honda does this.

If you can't find it on a website, then go to a library and take out a good shop manual before you

take on the job.

Good luck,

Howard
