Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Lawn boy, two cycle engines, engine crankcase

Question
I have a lawn boy model # 10227 and the only way to keep it running is to keep priming it when it starts to die.
I cleaned the carb and it still does the same thing.
Any help would be appreciated

Answer
Are the carb gaskets good?  Two cycle engines with leaky gaskets or seals will not run correctly.  The common name for this condition is a crankcase leak.  A leak will allow the fuel/oil mix to escape from the leak preventing the fuel from entering the engine.

Crankcase leaks are not very common but I have had older lawn boy mower with excessive wear on the lower main bushing causing them not to run.

I would suspect the carb before a crankcase leak.  Did you blow compressed air from an air compressor through all the carburetor orfices?  I have had to clean some carbs a couple of times to get them to work correctly.
